The question applies to shotguns only.
Is it legitimate to remove the fore-ends from shotguns and store them separately from the action and barrels which remain in fully approved cabinets?

Why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
God loves stupid people, that is why he made so many of them.
Re: Storage
Yeah, why not? Forends are not a component part, I reckon you could keep them in a kitchen drawer, if you'd like. Just cant see why you'd want to.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: Storage
Mentioned by someone who goes away for extended periods - although house is occupied and alarmed and keys NOT there. It gives a little extra peace of mind that if the security was breached by an intruder the guns would not be usable.Sim G wrote:Yeah, why not? Yeah, fair enough. I'm not knocking it, if it's a level of security that adds peace of mind as well, then all power to it. I suppose it is highly unlikely that you would forget your fore end going to a shoot.....
