#1 Post by shotgun sam »

I was asked last night if I knew what is a good load for a 204 as I do not have that calibre I was wondering what sort of pet loads 204 users recommend.

Thanks

Reloader 10 and 39gr BKs work well for me I can get a lot more speed from the 32 but I seem to loose accuracy.

This might help http://www.rugerhunting.com/204_data_sierra.php

Got rid of mine even though just about every powder I used with 32gn bullets performed very well. Benchmark or H335 would have the edge. But, i again found that unless the bore was kept scrupulously clean, accuracy soon tailed off with reloads as the barrel fouled. Now I'm talking after about 12 to 15 rounds. Double with factory.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I used to shoot benchmark in mine. Worked well enough with 32s, never did get it to shoot the 40s and could not get the 39s!
