does anyone know if the MOD let any of their units reload / produce their own ammo? as if the perceived direction of this is to appease the MOD, then its them that need to be satisfied, not us (if there is even an issue), and if they train their units to reload, wouldnt the easiest way be to use their course?
Its not allowed and there is no course.

Say a City and Guilds in reloading - that would be interesting.

Acccreditation would only go so far because no matter how much you train or educate people two things are certain:

1)Mistakes WILL happen.

2)People will experiment -and get it wrong.

Accreditation could certainly cover the safety, principles and practices of safe reloading bumpsign and the technicalities of casings, powders etc etc (all black magic to me) but it could never dictate specific calibres / powder combinations due to the wide range available.

If there was say a City & Guilds in Reloading or Handloading, would anyone actually go for it? Hypothetical question? any???? any???? any????

   This is getting silly. Accreditation, City & Guilds! It's reloading, it's a hobby FFS  If the NRA are thinking of or try pulling another money maker then vote with your wallet and your feet. The NSC isn't the be all and end all of shooting in the UK.

*IF* any sort of 'accreditation' or 'reloading competence course' was to be brought in then it's only going to be there so someone can tick a box and satisfy an insurance requirement.

It is unlikely any of us here:

1. Would want to go on the course
2. Would learn anything from it
3. Believe it will make any difference in the grand scheme of things

It would just be another one of those things in life we would have to do in order to carry on doing what we've been doing quite happily up to now.

A day will come when we won't be allowed to drive cars ourselves because it will be considered too dangerous, so Google (who by then will have a Government contract to 'enhance' our welfare) will do it for us.
Fireworks will be completely banned and replaced by glowsticks and tiny LED lights shot into the sky with compressed air.
Dangerous sports, like hang-gliding and skiing, will be forbidden and instead we will have to get our kicks with a set of virtual reality goggles and a Playstation in order to satisfy a legal requirement to save lives wherever possible.

I believe all this is known as "progress"?

Have you any idea how dangerous compressed air can be????

of course it is Blu, but isn't it amazing how many folks are maybe scared to prove they know what they're doing. I am all for NOT having all these schemes in place but methinks some protest too strongly. Of course here in Once-Great but paranoid Britain everything is a danger and we must have a certificate in something another - especially when no one else on the planet has them or bothers about them.

Like all ideas, this "survey" will no doubt grow arms and legs and lead to some form of competency certification.

Driver CPC training is an example here, now an essential in the UK but the rest of the EU just doesn't care..

Here in the Western, Mid West and Southern States of the US it's called bullshit and we don't do it.

Chuck,
but isn't it amazing how many folks are maybe scared to prove they know what they're doing.
Prove what to whom? There are millions of people reload every day without harming themselves or others both at the reloading bench and on the range shooting. WTF should anyone have to prove themselves? Fvck the interfering money grabbing assholes.

the problem is , as in many other examples , the people doing the checking know less than those being checked !

it's just another load of bullshit dreamt up by the NRA when they should be fighting our corner tooth and nail against the current crap we endure (some of which is previous NRA bullshit!)
