I keep looking at this and thinking wow, what a good looking rifle

Image

Suggested specification is:
Model Number: 6968
Caliber: 300 BLK
Stock: Flat Dark Earth Composite
Capacity: 5
Material: Alloy Steel
Finish: Matte Black
Barrel Length: 16.12"
Overall Length: 36.00"
Thread Pattern: 5/8"-24
Weight: 5.95 lbs.
Twist: 1:7" RH
Grooves: 6
Length of Pull: 13.75"
Sights: None-Scope Rail Installed

Suggested Retail: $489.00 - So maybe sub 500 quid over here?

I think it's Viking Arms, looks tempting, I have an empty slot for another 300aac but was waiting for an AR style straight pull.

As to price, the Handi Rifle I have sells for around $350 in the US but was £495 over here :bad:

The cheapest centre fire Ruger American on GT is GBP475. Would be an interesting rifle at that price....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Viking say they have no plans to bring them in officially however they 'might' be able to tack one to an order at some stage.

I reckon they could shift more than the odd one.

I wonder if a European importer is bringing them in?

An update, I spoke to Viking directly as opposed to through a local account holder and Viking tell me no chance as the UK Proof houses work to CIP standards and there is not a CIP std for the 300BLK however I was welcome to contact the proof house myself and see if they would be able to test. Now having had wildcats proofed in the past without issues I cannot see the problem however it did sound like if it was to happen the onus was on me to clear the path with London or Birmingham.

I have emailed Richard Mabbitt for comment as he is my normal contact at the London Proof House. I have also fired off an email to a European contact.

They're talking complete and utter bo...cks, my 300aac/300BLK Handi Rifle has proof marks from the proof house as I'm sure do all the other 300 straight pulls etc. that have been sold in the UK
