Scottish National Shooting Centre

#1 Post by Mike357 »

Despite this being on the cards for several years, nothing much appeared to happening. The STSF have now published details of the proposal and it seems to be making more progress.

About time, and no Referendum push please

Ironic - just as they get it going the SNP will ban private firearms ownership after the yes vote.

Gaz - Whats worse is the SNP's motivation. Labour would have guns out of civilian Hands, piece by piece, 'oh, thats scary looking, they only really need a bolt action' and - 'A shotgun!!!', or similar, statements at a time. They will accidentally ban all Guns. The SNP is worse, they have categorically stated they believe no civilian should own a gun.
You have to sympathize with them though - how will they set up their neo-fascist single-party state if the people are armed?

clapclap clapclap

That'sthe ONLY reason to disarm the population whilst arming the police.

Seriously though, this is pie in the sky, will never happen. They faffed about with it years ago at Dechmont and it went nowhere fast despite money being offered to help buy the place. At the time the target shooters were involved in the planned runners of the range and it was going to be their show for them!

No decision on location yet as that is all part of the bidding process.

Chuck, I appreciate that it is taking its time but I'm pretty sure that with everything else the Scottish Govt has been pre-occupied with over the last 2 years, I'm impressed that it has got to this stage where there are no clear time frames and a process in place. We'll see if the dates are met in the proposal.
