Abbreviations

Trust the Yanks to settle on an abbreviation unrelated to the word they're shortening ;-)

Actually the term is applied to Barrel Length, BBL is Blued Barrel Length.

One I've been confused about: BBL. From context it is something to do with barrels but I can't quite make it fit with a known phrase.

Charlie, the meaning may be different in the UK but over here BBL is the abbreviation for barrel. I did read once many years ago that it was also used to mean Bored Barrel Length.

Okay I understand how BBL might stand for "bored barrel blank" but it had twice as many Bs as "barrel".

Originally BBL was blued barrel length. I guess BBL was hijacked as I've seen it used to signify barrel. The thing is Charlie, life is way too short to be worrying and wondering about this kinda $h!t mate :lol:

Nope that's not the thread, can't remember which thread it was and I can't be bothered searching but there was one a good while back where The Troll categorically stated that "if he had anything do do with it, gays will never marry in his church". Hey don't take my word for it, ask him his views on the subject yourself.

Well this has been a interesting topic it wandered off a bit things got a bit heated but I can live with that it is a open forum after all.
I have been following the thread all though I thought it best not to post.
But the Gay issue that blu keeps referring to I think deserves a answer. We have a Gay couple in the family. I work with one of the cleverest Guys I have ever met we work together on projects he is Gay so what.
What I actually said in the post that blu is referring to is I am a Roman Catholic the Catholic Church does not carry out Gay marriages. So Gay couples will never be married in my Church. Rightly or wrongly I really don't care. Nothing to do with me the Catholic Church does not marry Gay couples.
But if that's a problem blu we could all ways run away together and find a Country that will accept us pet.

Baptised a Catholic Educated in Catholic schools married a good Catholic girl we have been married 40 years.
