Shooting clays near London

#1 Post by Gaz »

My other half wants to try clay pigeon shooting. I know very little about it, beyond having tagged along with a few mates ages ago. I've had a quick look online but the "experience day" type stuff is very clearly aimed at rich people with more money than sense, or corporate fun days.

What's the best option for a reasonably priced clay day with a spot of tuition? I have no equipment whatsoever.

As your home club is Bisley, why not shoot clays there?

Bisley shooting ground says you must have an SGC, which I don't, and your own guns and personal insurance, which again, I don't.

The NSC clay ground quotes £80 for an hour, which isn't bad for the two of us - I was wondering what other deals were out there.

Or head up to Sporting Targets in Risley Bedfordshire, it an absolutely superb shooting ground and they do tuition at sensible prices. You can also call in for a coffee/good natured banter/abuse or whatever on your way home.

I'd agree about asking Dan (if you don't go down the route I already suggested to you ;) ) - he'll be great although prices are pretty much what you have already quoted but he'll be fun and probably better value for money!
