Abbreviations
Can I suggest a sticky or something along those lines for abbreviations?
Just been reading a couple of posts and not being an ex-forces/public servant/'Countdown' presenter type, I sometimes think WTF are you talking about! (I know what that one is :55: )
Some of the posts in the current 'NRA (lack of support)....' thread have been hard to understand for a mere (NFN) simpleton like me.
NFN. Normal For Norfolk.

Re: Abbreviations
What specific abbreviations are you having trouble with?
Arming the Country, one gun at a time.
Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

Re: Abbreviations
Not a problem, which section do you want the sticky in?
Re: Abbreviations
Thanks,
There were a few in the thread that confused me;
MMTT, HQSPTA, MATT3, SA(B)(90), JSP403, SME, PAM21, RSIT, TSO, ALARP to name but a few.
I am taking an interest in that particular thread because it has great implications to my club and other local clubs. Shooting the ranges in question are (in my opinion) some of the best smile inducing days out to be had but if you cant understand what the hell is going on then you cant try and help out!

HQSPTA - Headquarters Salisbury Plain Training Area
MATT3 - Military Annual Training Test 3 (battlefield first aid qualification)
SA(B)(90) - military range qualification, allows the holder to conduct live firing on all static ranges with small arms (very roughly, doubtless someone more in the know will correct me). See also SA(A)(90) which allows the holder to conduct live and blank firing, with movement, on field firing areas.
JSP403 - Joint Service Publication 403, the Ministry of Defence ranges handbook. Split in four volumes covering, among other things, design, construction and operation of ranges.
SME - Subject Matter Expert
PAM21 - Infantry Training Volume 4, Pamphlet 21, the MoD bible for military range work.
RSIT - dunno
TSO - Training Safety (or possibly Standards) Officer
ALARP - As Low As Reasonably Practicable. A principle applied to risks/H&S matters.

Thanks Christel much appreciated.
A couple of sessions at anger management would soon sort you out Adam. Or maybe a crate of McEwan's Export or two.
The TROLL.
