Re: Show your Accuracy International

#31 Post by Geek »

If the intention is to purchase a second hand AI in .308 many sellers quote a round count - what is high / low and how many rounds before a barrel needs to be changed?

I shoot my .223 on the range and I am quite happy to plink 100 round - would the AI be OK with that?
Regards,

Geek

An AI would be fine plinking off 100 rounds, I used to do a about 300 in a day with no issue. If it's in 308 it would depend on your loads, but the lw barrels are very hard so last ages. But if you did somehow burn out a barrel, you can get replacements (fairly) cheaply and they just screw on without gunsmithing.

That's pretty impressive - am I correct in thinking that AI source their barrels from Lothar Walther?

Usually Border but they do use Lothar Walther too.

I think there is an issue with Border due to the massive delays.

What MOA have you achieved with your AI-AT?
alijnclarke wrote:I think i've shown this before but anyway here goes.

AI AT 308
26" lw barrel & threaded AI brake
folding stock
Nightforce ATACR sat on a spuhr isms.

I absolutely love it, although I may well be trading up to the AXMC (purely for the long action)
