Lovely, but £5.fricking.grand and SGC's reputation mean it's a "no" from me.

That does seem pointless, but maybe this was just a demo rifle.

Well, if Fat Bob made it & Fat Pete says it's "the next generation of straight pull(?) kukkuk kukkuk ", then I say there's FAT CHANCE of a potential straight pull buyer spending up to triple the current outlay to buy something that may or may not work, may or may not be top of the Home Office(s)hit list

And HOW does Fat Pete reckon it fires from an open bolt?? kukkuk
The wider he gets the dumber he seems to be getting

Yeah I don't think Pete quite understands what an open bolt firing cycle is.

This rifle fires from a closed bolt.

Also £5K to buy one?! The Vz.58 MARS has a starting price of £1950, if this is something that you so desire why pay an extra £3K?

Surely taking the 'bolt capture device' out makes it a cinch... *easily convertible".

As the first 9mm LR rifles were siezed as section 5 for this exact reason, I suspect this angle has been "mildly" covered by both SGC and the HO.
