Turned projectiles

JDR imports reloading goods to order and has a special interest in historical carbines and all forms of S1 pistols and revolvers.

We also supply everything to do with wet tumbling, with machines ranging from the Rebel 17 to the large, industrial-sized CRC units.

Turned projectiles

#1 Post by JD4570 »

We are looking at offering a range of CNC turned brass target projectiles.

They would be available in: 5.56, 6mm, 6.5mm, 30 cal, 338 and 50 cal. Prices TBC.

I'm currently gauging interest in these and wanted to hear from SD members who might use them. Please note, if you haven't encountered these before, they cannot be used on MoD ranges or for hunting.

When we are RFD, all except 338 and 50 cal may be available in hollow point versions, however as stated above, there are restrictions on their use in the UK.

If anyone is considering trying these, then I can highly recommend them, I use them in 308, 338lm and 50cal and the consistency of the projectiles has to be seen to be believed. My last batch of 500 .50cal projectiles were identical for weight (to the grain!) Length and diameter!!

I could be interested depending upon price.

Can you give an idea of bullet weights/cost for .224 and .308 calibres please Jon?

You cannot use turned/monolithic projectiles on any MoD Gallery range and you will get yourself into a whole heap of sh!t if you use them at Bisley as they are specifically banned.
So where are people using them?

Thank you for the responses. I'll put up a list of sizes and types shortly.

If you are considering buying these, do please note the above remarks about where you can and cannot use them.
