Design Badger a gun room

No, oomans, not that type of gun room.

We're thinking of extending the sett garage to add on another room that will be used as a workshop for several of our hobbies. There will be a bench in there with a few basic bits of kit like a small pillar drill, grinder and so forth, plus a small furnace and similar paraphernalia associated with knifemaking. What things could we put in there that are shooting related?

We're thinking of a nice long bench for reloading kit, maybe a sink for gun cleaning with running hot water. Perhaps a gun rack to hold a gun as we clean it ? What would you put in there, and why ? The space available is about 12 x 12 feet, possibly a little more.

Bars on the windows, a nice solid door and an alarm! The collection tastefully arranged on the walls?

No, ooman, no ! It's not going to be an armoury or magazine, just somewhere to clean and tinker with our guns.

We're pondering a vertical stainless rack type thing so that we can stand our Noise Magnets upright and then have running hot water fed into the chamber and draining out the muzzle to clean them. We're looking for sensible ideas like that...

Probably the most useful thing in our 'man-cave' is pair of vices about two and a half feet apart for holding rifles...makes cleaning and working on them so much easier...

...I use soft rubber spacers inside the jaws in different configurations for each rifle so as not to bend them.

...or an MTM Gunsmith Vice...!!

Much easier option as it can be bolted down, but also unbolted and taken to the range/used in the car, etc.

No...a pair of vices on a designated cleaning/fettling bench, with the rods and attachments all to hand, along with all the cleaning products and oils...is a luxury I've not stopped appreciating tongueout ...

If its new build fit a good level of insulation( in the walls/roof) and underfloor heating. Plenty of lights above the work bench and one of those illuminated magnifying angle poise thingys for the close examination of cases prior to reloading.A flat screen computer(with tinternet access ) for all your load data etc. Many shelves.
