HK 416 .22LR

#1 Post by Rifleman798 »

Does any forum member own a HK 416 .22LR, Manufactured by Umarex Germany? I know the Colt they sold had some trouble but interested to hear experiences of the HK, Good and Bad.

Cheers

Don't have one James but I've done a lot of research on the AR lookalike 22s and read all the reviews. I am very keen to get one and I have formed the opinion that for true value for money, usability etc, I will stick to the higher end models such as Spikes Tactical or CMMG.

If you look at pictures of the "clones" against the "real" deal the difference in quality especially with the internal parts is night and day. Coupled with the fact that you can add a .223 upper and then you have two rifles in one. More expensive but worth it.

Looks like we are both singing off the same song sheet mike. Ive seen and read the reviews but have not actually got hands on one though. I am also looking at the Spikes tactical and CMMG. I would just be buying the 416 for the look factor, as the HK 416 is one of my favourite assault rifles, But as for reliability and performance a Spikes ,I think is the way forward and like you said, if You fancy a change just get the .223 upper and your off.

Cheers

James, whilst the Spikes is indeed a great looking gun, check out the CMMG either at Northwest Custom Parts or a new outfit called Lantac near Harrogate. They have an awesome stock list!

Been looking on North west custom parts for a good few months now. Ive heard of this new Lantac company, Worth a look. There's quite a bit to choose from out there.

Lantac http://www.lannertactical.com/ are about the only serious competition to NWCP but they are a new company and I know that the CMMG guns aren't in stock yet but I think once they get off the ground they will rock.

Couldn't agree more, They are stocking some serious kit. I think they have been about for a while but now really stepping it up a gear. Some good optics aswell, Including the range of ACOGS due soon.

Indeed Mark, a mecca for all those the like the black gun. I think Mark Bradley needs to revamp his sight because Lantac and NWCP have sites that are like sweet shops. If only a lever release 223 was possible then I'd be in heaven, and probably homeless :-)
