Re: Report into Kingsbury Incident
I was referring to NRA affiliated clubs and NRA qualified RCO's as a way of disseminating information quickly, as you say not all will be internetted but surely enough to make it worthwhile are.
I am pleased for you that you find the NRA website user friendly but I do not, no doubt you are far more skilled in such things as I am.
An email to club secretaries and RCO's with a link to any safety posting on the website surely shouldn't be beyond the NRA.
Communication is still a very weak aspect of the NRA and surely improving this could be an easy win for the organisation.

Re: Report into Kingsbury Incident
Maybe they should put this important information on Feckbook and Twatter, however, if they did I’d then miss it.
I found the link to the report the day it was posted by the NRA; not difficult for anyone who is or is not a member of the NRA to find as it was in the easily identifiable ‘Recent News Section’. I then posted it here as this is a more amiable and less irrelevant from of social media than Feckbook and Twatter.
The NRA website is probably overdue a refresh and I’m sure they are looking at that as a job that needs doing when time and resources are available. For me cutting the grass and weeds on top of the mantlet on Century was a better use of time and resources, well done Estates.

Re: Report into Kingsbury Incident
Still, why isn't the link circulated by email to those people I suggested?
Is communication an issue or not for the NRA, surely range maintenance and good communication isn't an either or situation.

Don't know, you'll have to ask the NRA that one.dromia wrote:Still, why isn't the link circulated by email to those people I suggested?

Link posted Friday
Certain staff only work weekdays
Today is Monday
I'll leave you to figure that one out
Oh and the majority of the staff are involved in Imperial so guess they might have other priorities than sending emails but I would expect it will be in the next email to members whenever that is.

So it is an ad hoc communication arrangement then?

For now Adam I guess so, but it looks as though they are onto it so best give them some time.dromia wrote:So it is an ad hoc communication arrangement then?
I also agree that the website really needs sorting and making more user friendly, but I am sure it will get done with time.
IF the NRA get it right, it will save everyone time and hassle, but these things never happen overnight mate.
There is of course the point about people not being on the web, which is precisely why it should be disseminated to RCOs and Chairmen/clubsecs via email (cant see that there wont be at least one of those in a club that is online). This way, at least someone (who's role includes safety supervision) should pass the info on.
There is no point in sitting on these things, un published they are pointless and, like I say, bordering negligent, but these days I don't believe the NRA would do that for one minute, the Old Boys net is thankfully slowly being stripped away.
I thought Iain's article on dealing with my lot was brilliant. That is where we also really need education, with the flat foots and TFUs....one day perhaps.

I know as much as you do as to the frequency of emails but I do look at the website and Facebook page every day . . .dromia wrote:So it is an ad hoc communication arrangement then?
