during the riots a few years ago some shooters told me on the secound day of rioting some had they shotguns out just in case of looting!!! however when you have wife and young children protecting your family its very unstandable however the vast mojarity of sheeple in this country would rather your wife and child are raped in front you and the house ransacked and burnt to ground then you defending your family from attact with a firearm...however when the police want to do and want to have more guns then the sas the sheeple are all up for it and demand they get even more guns etc

when did this brain washing happen ? we never used to be this pussy ! churchhill and thatcher would be spinning very fast in they graves !
Joe;

I don't believe for one moment that the vast majority of people in this country would rather sit back and watch their wives and children raped in front of them. I for one (and I'll bet that there are plenty of others) will defend my family in that situation to my last breath using every piece of weaponry at my disposal. I'll worry (not) about the legal aspects after the threat has been eradicated and my family are safe.

I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by six.

Mezzer, I know there are a few of us who would not go down quietly or willingly but the fact remains we are a nation of pathetic victims now - y'know - "OOOH I got the sh1t kicked out of me but I am a better person because I did not fight back - and the wheelchair is just fine!"!

We prefer the compo to doing what needs done at times bangbang bangbang bangbang bangbang bangbang

Same here Mezzer, but, the good old British legal system means that yours and my thoughts on what we would use to defend our loved ones an offence. Technically, even thinking that you would use a firearm means that you could be charged for 'Possession of a firearm or imitation firearm, with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence'.

We also have to remember, that in the heat of the moment, for instance during a home invasion, where would your firearms, ammo and keys normally be? Leaving a firearm to hand overnight is not an option unless you are a farmer. Which begs the question on the couple mentioned earlier that shot the Burglar, if their shotgun was out with ammo' handy, despite being let off, I seriously doubt they hung onto their SGCs.

For God's sake, we all have to remember that we live in a country where even a Baseball Bat leaning next to the front door could lead to serious questions by any visiting Policeman.

Nope over the years the sheeple in this country have been bullied by successive Governments and Pressure groups to be victims rather than protectors of own, our loved ones or our property.

Need some Whipped Smilies.

This'll have to do **** **** ****

Actually they don't, it's more a sense of disbelief. Saying that though even over here we have more than our fair share of hand wringing panty soiling numpties who would rather let themselves and their families come to harm than pick up a gun to defend themselves and their families. The seem to share a common thought that the Police will be there to protect them from the nasties of life.

Interesting range of replies folks :good:

Anyway, if you ever find yourself in THAT situation .... do what you think is the right thing. The loss of your FAC / SGC against losing your family is a no-brainer and I'm pretty cetain that 12 just men would agree. Hopefully, none of us will have to put it to the test. Anyhow, the boys in blue will ALWAYS be there to protect us won't they (no disrespect to the cops intended)?

I 'overheard' a convo on twitter recently:

"I'd rather be raped and killed than live with the guilt of shooting someone"

This, folks, is the problem with society now.

I had a "teacher" like that at school. My reply involving the phrase "evolution in action" caused a bit of a stir.

I dunno mate, I reckon the majority of women given the choice wouldn't have a problem shooting someone who's intention was to rape and possibly kill them. My wife has a CPL and I know for a fact that she does not share that sentiment, that woman has ice coursing through her veins when it comes to self defence.

Be interesting to read what the ladies here on the forum think of that statement
