All very interesting. On MOD/Landmarc run ranges, do you pay more for ETR/Moving targets?
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Landmarc should charge a set rate but don't seem to.

If you are NRA or affilliated, get in touch with Chris Webb the Area Manager.

He has a list of current charges and should be able to advise.

I do know that Carlisle have been having 'trouble' with Warcop for some time.

Also, do you get to use non standard targets like moving or ETR and are these operated by the club or Landmarc?
Hi Mike,
We used to use Fort George ranges (Landmarc) until it got too expensive, Range license was £70 per year, lanes were £28/lane/day and you are required to pay for two Range wardens (only Scotland) on overtime rates on Sats & Sundays. We normally hired the 600 yard range but we could also hire the ETR range (4 lanes/400m) and we operated it ourselves but were restricted to Prone shooting only.

The range is also restricted by passing Yachties who have no Idea what that Red delineated danger patch on the chart means, and all shooting stops when they're in the danger area. Sheer hell some days!

Fees were less if the Army or Cadets were also using the ranges, but if they cancelled (as they quite often did) then you pay the full rates.

Too expensive now.

To resurrect a very old topic, what do people pay nowadays?

My club has, so far, only ever shot at Bisley but since shooting the falling plates on Pirbright this weekend just gone we're considering branching out to MoD ranges ... if it's not ridiculously expensive. (I know Pirbright's not open to civilian shooters, sadly)

Fiver.

Two to a target though. Prone only. Static. Dire.

Probably why the sport will die.

I dont know what the clubs (The Grove and KLSM) are charged, but I pay £15 a day for STANTA ETR ranges (800m) and Thetford gallery (600yds).
30 mins drive from home and at least 2 range days a month.

Middlewick is two or three gallery ranges from 1 - 600 metres, on that range civvies are not allowed figure-11 targets, so we have to use the big "Bisley-type" round targets.

Fingeringhoe has a few 100 metre gallery ranges or zero'ing, on this range civvies are allowed to use figure-11s, which is odd. Fingeringhow also has ETR from 1 - 300 metres.

Our fees are £13.00 per head.
A bit of an increase now £20 per morning on a Sunday .
