Do any of you have experience with building a gun room at home?
I've skimmed the home office guidance and will ask my FEO, but wondered if any of you could provide input.
I've been contemplating if it could be as simple as building a cage in the specified 4mm mesh with the appropriate door/locks at the back of a room.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Experience with building a private gun room
Mesh cage spec. is for RFDs from my experience.
A gun room could be as simple as a steel door on a normal room - but that may depend on what the wall structure is

That sounds promising. Thanks for letting me know.

I did a box room, lined it with 3mm sheet steel, top, sides & floor (To prevent anyone punching through the plasterboard from adjoining room), fitted a 6mm steel door into angle plate door-frame with a couple of 7-lever locks. 'Bob's your Aunty.'

Hi Andy. Thanks for your comments. I might have to contemplate something similar for the ceiling will see what my new FEO says.
