No those who SUPPLY them can. There is a clause in the act that grants re-enactors and actors an excuse in which to use them user controlled conditions.

I get the impression there are a lot more section 5 authorities about than most realise (and I'm not talking about two shot pistols for HD type authorities).

Also museums (quite automatically I believe by virtue of museum type FACs), serious genuine collectors, those businesses who deactivate guns, certain military contractors (there is a specific section in the latest guidance to do with s5 authority for maritime defence contractors), those who are granted permission to carry for self defence (I believe mainly certain judges and servicemen involved with high profile cases during the Troubles)... like Zanes I suspect there are a great deal of S5 authorities granted quite quietly.

There was a thread somewhere on here that stated how many S5 holders there were (don't know if it included RFD's) but the figure was in the mid thousands (about 6k IIRC) - be bu66ered if I can find it now though :-)

There may well be a few in the forum.

I know a handful of S5 RFD's outside of the forum and a couple of S5 FAC holders on the forum. Not sure of the total numbers in the UK.

Thinking about I do not even know how many RFD's there are over here. When we applied for our RFD ticket the FEO said there were 10 RFD's within a 6 mile radius however he later said were the only RFD doing what we do, the others were places such as fishing shops selling shotgun cartridges, rimfire ammunition and airguns.
