There seems to be a good range of .22LR's and side by side shotguns for under GBP50 however not so many centrefire rifles.. I do know of one person who actively looks for hammer shotguns to d*activate and will happily take whatever he can get his hands on.
I remember talking to some locals in the pub a while ago, one of them had a handful of old shotguns he wanted to get of, none were exotic or interesting, just field/carry guns. He could not find a buyer for them, was struggling to find someone who would even take them free of charge and his RFD had told him he wanted GBP30.00 each 'for administration' to take them off his hands and the last option was to hand them in which was not a good option as he was worried about the questions such an action might raise with his FEO given his age. He was probably in his early 70's and just wanted to downsize but still keep something for the occasional walk across the fields.

That would be a canny investment if you have the room.Charlie Muggins wrote:A chap up West Atholl way was advertising a half dozen MkIIs at £100 each recently.legs748 wrote:If you find a good one at that price buy it, or tell me and I will, cos they are getting rarer and prices are going up! The amount of gunshops I go in looking for a greener gp shotgun only to be told "they go for about £80 mate" yeah, double it and you may get somewhere.Charlie Muggins wrote:BSA martinis are still available at 100 and under from a lot of older club shooters. Dammed fine rifles, just unfashionable.
