"Experts have said his comments were “stupid” and encourage an American-style idea that you and your home are only safe if you are armed."...

...How can they be 'experts' if they don't even understand the fundamental differences in gun ownership between the UK and the US kukkuk - We are not allowed guns for self defense, and have to keep them locked away when not being used!

I only came in to check the Phoenix results...right back to the man-cave refurb

I suspect Farage would promise anything which might bring him votes. There were murmurings of this from the Tories pre-2010 election, but that's the last we hear of it. Sorry, but IMO Farage is just a BS merchant - I don't believe a word he says.

Because of the Cumbrian shootings.....

While i'm happy to vote UKIP in the European/local elections, and the thought of a party willing to admit the handgun has been a waste of time and money is very tempting, i don't think i could vote UKIP in the general election simply because of that flat 30% income tax rate idea

DW58, two points :

a) Defending licencing of pistols is hardly going to be a vote winner for him ...

b) And even if it is true, what the F*ck ...

No politicians, Tory or Labour have ever defended our cause, even worst, they both actually screwed you hard & deep and remember they took your guns away from you...

Now it is about time the shooting community wake up & smell the coffee. We have zero mates or allies in Westminster. What ever the motive is, Farage is the 1st bloke that is publicly supporting us ... What ever you or me feel about him is totally & utterly irrelevant, nobody is asking you to marry him. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" and on that specific subject that is enough for me.

He's sensible but not stupid. Pistols = video game killing instruments to the general public, and that includes obvious target shooting equipment like Olympic style .22 pistols. If UKIP seriously floated the idea they'd lose a lot of public support overnight.

Your all missing the point, forage is only hinting at a partial repeal, and that ladies and gentlemen has to bemail done by a parliamentary debate and vote......
And after that it's got to pass through the house of Lords!

There is no wave of the pen and booooosch,u can go get a 1911/glock.

But fear not, your current shotguns and rifles will remain untouched forever after all I can't see the nobility giving up their purdeys,or h&h for stalking at the weekend with the old etonians at their fathers Scottish estate...

.22 semi Autos and lbp lbr and lever release I can see getting added to sec 5 tho.
