I've been pondering exactly how to do this for a while. The problem is getting hold of the airsoft receiver halves without paying £400+ for the complete airsoft toy and then throwing away all the expensive internals.

Re the law, no, it'll never be section 5 unless you do something stupid like take a hacksaw to the barrel. Which you won't need to do anyway, as the real L85 barrel is 518mm long.

Charlie Muggins wrote:It is very possible, and TAOFledermaus of Youtube has an excellent tutorial on shoehorning a 10/22 into a £30 P90. I have considered such a thing, as I am sure many shooters have. The two primary reasons I have not are:

(1) Airsoft toys are generally either (a) expensive or (b) crap, even if just used to donate their furniture
(2) It wouldn't exactly help the general effort if a filthy journo (Gaz exempted) found out about it; "Toy gun converted with household tools to fire automatic bullets of same calibre as army rifles".
You can buy a purpose made firearms kit to dress a 10/22 up as a P90S. Someone on this forum has one and it looks the mutts nuts. I think its in the "Show us your rimfire's thread"

EDIT: Here it is tongueout
