Re: Case Life
I still haven't got any rifle cases fired more than 3 times yet, so have only just got to trimming...but annealing may well be approaching...ovenpaa wrote:Mick, they will need annealing by now. As the cases are fired/resized the brass starts to work harden which leads to a greater and more inconsistent level of neck tension. Annealing them properly will bring the brass back to factory specification or close, you will see more consistent neck tension and less vertical dispersion.
Are you still using that lovely shiny automatic one you made?

Nope, the original version sits under the work bench giving the spiders somewhere to sleep.Dougan wrote:I still haven't got any rifle cases fired more than 3 times yet, so have only just got to trimming...but annealing may well be approaching...

Re: Case Life
The one to watch is Dirtbag of this forum, he is a left handed shooter with right handed rifles and catches the cases with his free hand in mid air and without looking. Serious Jedi stuff...Dougan wrote:If the ground is muddy or wet I do open the bolt gently and catch them...billgatese30 wrote:If you ever have a surplus, give me a shout.
