At the elite level, there are a disproportionate number of surgeons, pilots and vets.

Me: Engineer by education, military officer by profession, pilot by inclination, evaluator by specialisation, NRA employee by accident.

The Padre of 2 Para during the Falklands Conflict was a well known TR shooter of the day - he is rumoured to have used his experience to train the Battalion's snipers (naughty for a Padre who is supposed to be strictly non-combatant).

Oh - what about "Monarch" as an unlikely occupation - HM The Queen was still stalking until relatively recently, apparently she was no mean rifle shot.

Most of my career has been in financial services, but I started shooting many years before I even contemplated the concept of work.

I grew up in the countryside, where shooting was very widespread.

Doctor (been several different types)
Church leader (been several different types)
Shooter (been several....you get the gist)

It seems that I cant hold down a steady job or a steady interest....at least I am still doing all 3 now - although I am banned from getting another motorbike (at the moment....) to make it 4.

Eur Ing and Chartered Electrical engineer (building services), started my working career as an electrician, just plinking at the moment, but wish to enter a few more club competition shoots.

Job wise spent 14 years working in chemical / drug sampling and QC, I now work in instrumentation mainly GC build and calibration.
Shooting wise its hunting and pest control, with long range plinking with a .308.

I am also radio licensed M6, other hobbies are photography and just started building an aerial photography rig.
