I actually got around to fitting it today. For such an average looking rifle is does shoot well ;)

Well given that they are designed by the Brits, based on a German design and built by the Mercans they are very good and I think under estimated rifles. But you either love them hate them, my son is a big fan of anything old and service related but show him a P14 and he pulls a face regardless of how accurate they can be.

Another view of the vernier:

The P14 itself:

ovenpaa,

Like I said earlier, it's a nice looking rifle.

Aesthetically, the P14 is a "super-model" compared to the SMLE and subsequent versions. I will never understand the affection and affinity for those ugly rifles.

Maybe I'm just ignorant and unknowlegeable?

I have a thing about .303's in general - No idea why but I quite like them, maybe it is a history thing, next time you shoot a pre 45 action .303 service rifle just pause for a moment and think.
