Just searched for the Remington 700 Shilens triggers found one for sale Midway UK £150.95 so more expensive than $59.95
FFS **** how the hell do they get away with that? That's just outrageous. Saying that though I stopped using Midway a while back when they got greedy and tacked on a handling fee for any order under $25. I just had a look around the net and they have gone up some in price but I still found them for $70

rip off Britain blu , and because of the way our restrictive laws work we are pretty much powerless to do anything about over charging with firearm related stuff !

Blu,
In some cases mate we have to bite the bullet so to speak if we can't get an item we want over here it has to be MidwayUK and you have to pay through the nose.

I'm waiting for an item I ordered 21-4-14 from Brownells arrived UK 24-4-14 (excellent service by them) the tracking says it's in customs what for 6 days **** then the Royal Mail will stick their charges on top and I will have to go and collect it. Midway out of stock.

This all seems to be very badly handled. After the first acknowledgement email from Remington over a month ago that they would send packing material and postage forms and all necessary info, nothing.
SMK, the new importers of Remington, told me by phone that as my trigger had been polished, lightened professionally by a gunsmith in 2008 before the rifle was delivered and had given no problems it was ok to leave as is.
This was repeated by to me by Riflecraft, who are indeed awaiting a shipment of 7lb triggers from Remington.
Neither SMK or Riflecraft have anything on their websites relating to the recall although there is some guff to that effect on Riflecraft's Facebook page, if indeed it is a genuine FB page of the company.
Overall very unimpressive from the three companies involved.

Yes very unimpressive. ****

When I phoned SMK on the 14th April they knew very little about the trigger problem, they said they would get back to me asap, guess what still waiting a month later. Riflecraft have told me twice now still waiting for triggers from Remington, and they already have over 200 rifles that have been sent to them for repair. Do not send mine until they say so..........whenever that will be.

A 7 lb trigger, are they serious? wtfwtf I wouldn't accept a trigger that heavy on what is supposed to be a precision rifle. If that's what they are offering, they can keep it!.

There is a alternative if folks don't want to go through all this crap. The problem is an excess of bonding agent on the trigger. You could take it to a gunsmith for examination and if needs be have the trigger cleaned up. Hey I understand about the warranty thing and stuff but I'm hearing a waiting time of up to nine months over here depending when one sent their rifle in. Nine months here, I reckon it could be a lot longer for over there. Just saying guys.

The bonding agent is a smoke screen .... How much bonding agent can there be in a trigger ?!??
As for triggers, I suggested this to SMk when the VOLUNTARY recall was announced by Remington, ( smk didn't even know ! )
Now I hear that they are not sending triggers but new washers to fit in the trigger ?!?

It's a mess,
And all because they may or may not get sued ... And can't afford the payout or knock on effect ..
Hence why it was a voluntary recall, but the moment you entered your serial number, you are now bound by there warning , therefore it becomes your problem if anything ones tong after they have od you ' don't use ' ...
