I cant comment on some of the events listed above although i will be shooting a match in the imperial this year, what i can comment on is the Civilian Service Rifle winter league which is not only well attended but attracts upwards of a hundred shooters every match and is gaining more. This is shot through the winter months and people travel as far a field as denmark to shoot it. If you saw some of the conditions Century range was in youd see the enthusiasm and dedication.nfrancis wrote:How many of these (5 million, 1.5 Million, 13,000??) box tickers attend any shoots? Phoenix, Imperial, any of the matches on the NRA calendar, NSRA calendar, CPSA calendar?
Ticking boxes on websites ain't going to save any sport. Getting your arses out and taking part will do that! So you've all 'signed' the petition - what you going to do now?
I expect attendances at Phoenix, Imperial, Trafalgar and the hundred and one other shoots held up and down the country to start increasing? Hmmmm...
I myself wouild like to experience pistol shooting and atleast have the chance to own one. Not to pose infront of the mirror or to look at it now and again but to get it out and actually shoot it and rather than negativity, I would like to see some positivity towards this. What i see from the original Ban is legeslation for the many based on one shooter and some mistakes by the local police force. You cant legislate for one person on that day who could not see the difference between right and wrong. My Heart does go out to all the victims for there loss and there continued suffering but they should not have been used as a vehicle to pass new legislation.
