Has anyone here read "American Rifle - biography" by Alexander Rose? I found it to be a very interesting history of the American take on the rifle and how it shaped and influenced American history and society.
Is there anything similar written about the interaction of firearms and the history of the British people?

I haven't read the book but it does raise the interesting subject of the different relationships that the US and UK have with firearms. Clearly there is a stronger relationship between the US and firearms but I wonder whether that is a true picture or one built on a popular cultural aspiration to be a 'frontier nation'?
