Thanks for that Sam! Turns out I have one.....!!

So, what happens in the UK? My local dealer where I got it from is not open on a Saturday afternoon. Who is it that imports Remington now? And how will I be affected considering I've had the rifle from new, it's had 49 rounds through as a barrel run in an a further 30 rounds in load development.....

But, I've had a bolt knob extension and had it screw cut. My luck, that will cause more issues!

Can't see why barrel or bolt mods shoudn' affect a trigger recall. Recalls in the automotive industry tend to ignore owner modifications if it doesn't concern the recall affected part. E.g if they recall a car because of an engine or ecu issue, they don't tend to care if you have aftermarket wheels or suspension. Its not a warranty claim after all they are exercising their due care so they don't get sued.

Neither of mine are affected...

I knew the .223 Armalon was possibly on the old side as it was one of the first Police rifles in .223. It has the factory original trigger, that I tuned as per USMC policy...never given any problems in 15+ years.

Had thought the 6.8 Police/LTR may have been in the bad batch, but luckily turns out it is OK (well, it's beyond OK anyway, as the trigger's been replaced for an after-market one)

I have a feeling that the Warranty falls to the original importer, as THEY are the people YOU have your original purchase contract with...and they're the ones that took your money for faulty goods. The costs involved SHOULD come out if their pockets.
Local RFD's may/may not be able to advise: as the recall info. has NOT been forthcoming from either of the UK importers (past/present) but from the internet, then I'd not put too much faith in any UK RFD knowing much or having any instructions on what to do with rifles that fall into the recall category.
I'd expect LONG delays and lots of goal post moving....

Maybe cause they'll refuse to work on a non-factory rifle??
Remington have a LONG track record of doing repairs to customised guns, but ONLY after they've returned the gun to factory condition; added a upgraded bolt? They'll install a standard one & charge you for it. You'd be surprised WHAT they use as a means to grab more $$$ OR how they'll wriggle out of doing repair work if the gun is no longer IN WARRANTY - as you've added/modified it from factory spec.

SimG, would you like me to give Remington a call on Monday and see how it's dealing with overseas customers? I suspect they will have authorised service centres/gunsmiths somewhere in the UK where your rifle will have to be sent or something along those lines.

I have no doubt something will be in place, but with Remy importer changing, and the new one not developing a reputation of a decent sort, we'll wait out. But, I may need you to rattle a cage or two at some stage...... I'll be in touch! :lol:
