Scrapping a rifle
If I wanted to scrap a rifle could I cut it in bits and hand it in to my FEO ? Can I also hand over any ammo I no longer wish to keep ?

If I no longer value it for whatever reason I certainly wouldn't choose to lumber someone else with it when in my opinion it needed scrapping .

Yes just surrender it at the local police station and get a receipt (they will give you a copy of the surrender form) then you can apply for a 1-4-1. The same goes with any ammo you don't want. Don't forget to notify your firearms department of the disposal though as the various departments often fail to talk to each other.

Its a Lee Enfield No4 converted to 7.62 TR single shot the only bit worth having may be the bolt , I would keep the stock ,greenshoots wrote:what rifle is it does it have value in spare parts?

I would consider the bolt and receiver worth keeping intact, so long as they aren't damaged in any way.

Not forgetting that the bolt is a pressure bearing part so would have to be held on a firearms certificate.

NB the bolt doesn't go on the FAC, you just need to have an FAC with something you can use it in.
