Part-exing

#1 Post by Demonic69 »

Am I right in thinking there's no real part-ex, swap or trade allotted for on an FAC?
You effectively sell one, apply for a 1 for 1 variation, then buy another.
They can't be handled without getting up the slot with a variation first?

Not quite

I have seen variations worded, whereby you could still own the gun you were disposing of, but could not acquire the new gun unless you sold/traded the old one first

That's how I usually ask for a variation - authority to purchase x on the sale/disposal of y. The new form (202) makes it a little awkward to request a variation that way around but a covering should sort it.

Sell it. Fill out the form (202) and send it (form 202) and your FAC off to the Police. Then wait...
