With respect Sconie if you have to ask and admit no knowledge of expanding ammo then do consider yourself suitably qualified to shoot deer or fox. Have you considered seeking additional training appropriate to the task involved.
I can see a number of potential problems shooting deer and fox over such a flat and open landscape for instance what sort of range are you expecting to have to shoot over.

Most spotters won't be too concerned with seeing a shooter making the place safe for their Iron Birds to land, take off and perform for them...

The shooting will be at 100yrd range and the area that harbour's most of the wildlife is the area with the backstop, I will seek advice from my club members as well as quite a few target shoot as well as vermin control, but as the conversation cropped up today I thought it worth asking forum members thoughts as well. Perhaps you also need to consider not only ammunition but the legalities of what you are proposing and if you would benefit from learning more about deer such as by taking a DSC1 course for instance. When and how you can legally control deer comes to mind in particular if you should need a special licence from SNH to take deer out of season or shooting from vehicles.
Do you have any experience of gralloching deer? What do you propose doing with the carcase, not waste it I hope!
