I wonder how many of the discipline days will be held on ranges out with Bisley?

Ah, right thats news then. Discipline days seem to work. I've assisted with two CSR Introduction Days that were both oversubscribed and now most CSR League shoots have a fair number of first timers taking part with entries well up on previous years.

Are you going to run any up North?

I've plenty of training materials, PowerPoints and literature that you can have for CSR course.

If we get the same organisational support as the Bisley days do, we can get a range we can shoot on, as they are all MoD, and the regional rep acts as local co-ordinator then I certainly would give it time and energy.

Only problem I can see is you would need to do Discipline Days as guest days not an Open Day as the Home Office were fairly stingy with allowing Open Days (where anyone can turn up as long as they are compliant with Section 21). We were allowed 2 or 3 but when the disaster that was Bisley Live came along we had to give up the planned Open Day to allow Bisley Live to happen (as a group of 3 Open Days together) so can't see them allowing lots of them all of a sudden.

And the whole point of the Open Days was to allow people to have a go at EVERYTHING to see what they preferred. Discipline Days won't cover that as the people attending will only be interested in that discipline.

Just doesn't make sense . . .

If you can find the people to coach and help and a big enough range and someone sensible at your end to coordinate it (not necessarily the regional rep) then yes I think you would get the organisational support.

Altcar started off very small and grew - it was just someones greed that stopped it

Karen, just curious here to know the reason for the corporate days. Is it to seek donations/bring in revenue?

If its for a club or a team who need to raise money then yes. They are run on similar lines to corporate days out for large companies. The NRA run theirs on slightly different lines but the reason is to make money. Difficulty is finding clients

If anyone knows of a large business wanting a fun day out for their staff or clients for £300 to £500 a head then point them my way for the Irish Team to West Indies 2017!
