Shortening Versapod bipods
I have a Versapod bipod on my AI that extends from around 7" to 9" and I would prefer it to be a couple of inches shorter, has anyone any tips on shortening a Versapod before I take a hacksaw to it.
Re: Shortening Versapod bipods
Err no, although I am in the opposite camp, I could use a couple of extra inches (stop sniggering at the back) on my versapod. Think my one is the same as yours, around 9" from floor to middle of the spigot mount at full extension.
Re: Shortening Versapod bipods
Jon,
I just checked and mine at full extension is closer to 10.5"

Re: Shortening Versapod bipods
If your interested in a swap I can send you my one to look at, its a general versapod not an AI specific one (if they exist), with the spigot mounted on the rifle.
Looks like the one bottom left

Re: Shortening Versapod bipods
Hmm, that looks like mine apart from I have the ski feet. Measuring mine the length of tube from underside of the top shoulder castings to the bottom is exactly 120,0mm, would you be able to measure yours?

What is the top left one?
Re: Shortening Versapod bipods
My one id the same as your one then, the feet are probably what gives the slight height difference. Just spotted that the feet might be changeable, so lengthening the legs might be an option for my one.ovenpaa wrote:Hmm, that looks like mine apart from I have the ski feet. Re: Shortening Versapod bipods
I have had a good look and the way forward looks to be to remove the legs from the upper section then shorten the inner and outer sections and glue them back together. I have some Cerakoting booked in for start of next week so if I am quick about it I should be able to get the job done and the bipod painted in time for shipping.
