Ridgeline Tactical Drag Bag and Shooting Mat

Has anyone tried the Ridgeline Tactical Drag Bag and Shooting Mat, it is basically a dragbag that can be used as a shooting mat. At under seventy five quid it is not going to be into AIM territory however it looks good in principle.

Normally these fail at the first hurdle as shooters cram so much in the pockets that it is too uncomfortable when it comes to laying on. In this case (no pun intended) I notice there are no massive pouches on the outside, just two on the inside for ammunition and paperwork.
Given the cost of ground matts these days I think this model could be worth a look,

I was thinking of one for the M66 builds however I reckon my AI would slot in nicely as well although there is no real provision for a suppressor. This takes me back to the age old problem of travelling light, I hate the idea of hauling numerous bags and packs from the car when shooting, for me it has to go to the firing point in one carry and with minimal fuss, which in the spirit of S Class means one slip, one rifle and my pockets. For F/TR this is not quite so easy however it should be possible.

So I need recommendations for a drag bag that converts to a shooting mat, has no or flat pockets on the outside and some means of storing or holding things on the inside, even if they are in separate soft bags held in place with Velcro so they can be removed, finally it needs a good means of holding the rifle in place and a close ended zip so things do not fall out.

Thoughts anyone?

I did notice that the Ridgeline product was covered in molle attatchment straps, lots of scope there to personalise that one.
I guess if your kit is in pouches it is less likely to blow accross the range or get left behind should you have to unattach them to lay on the mat.

I was just mulling over the 'ideal' DragMat it does not need to be festooned with clips and tape as I have no desire to haul it into the wilds of Afghanistan or Borneo however it needs to be waterproof and have a degree of padding to both hold shape and make it vaguely comfortable to lie on. This is a 2 dimensional concept and in practice it would have low sides to enable a box type construction.

As a shooter I tend to be on the left hand side of the rifle so which is where I need more space, I also have bony elbows so they need support. I want to be able to just lay it flat on the point, open the Dragmat everything is to hand, suppressor if used, cleaning rod and cleaning kit if needed, possibly some ammunition, ear defenders and a very small tool/spares kit. I also shoot with a small squeeze bag so that needs to go to the package. Any storage for such items is going to get in the way once the parts are in use so I need to be able to remove them yet store them without fear of them blowing across the range and finally I need to be able to carry it with a degree of comfort.

One real problem is the one I mentioned earlier, rain. It is all well and good being waterproof however what about when it has chucked it down all day and I then replace the rifle and close it up in what is nothing short of a puddle. Now that is all well and good with an M66 or AccInt however not so good for a wood stocked rifle.

What have I missed and what should I add?

So you also need drainage and pockets for dessicant packets. Would it make sense to bias it left or right depending on your shooting position? Keeping the storage over to the opposite side of your rifle?

Drainage is a good point, the storage would be on Velcro so easily swapped to suit the user. I have modified the drawing accordingly.

Why not have a central sleeve / pocket for the rifle to slide up into so it's never in direct contact with a wet surface?

I've been considering one of these........ No padding, but fold up nice and small.. Only thing is I'm tall and the mat's only 6' long, been keeping an eye out for an 8'+ one emrolleyes
