Optics to go onto an SLR

#1 Post by Charlotte the flyer »

Can anyone recommend a compact scope with either an MOA reticle or .308 bullet drop compensation that would go well with an SLR. I have a picatinny dust cover and am looking for something small, like an ACOG size. Not too fussed about magnification as I want it to look 'milsurpish'. Either fixed 6x or variable up to 12 tops will be fine. I was thinking about something from Nikon or Burris, any opinions? Has to be able to cope with .308 recoil.

Thanks

Charlotte.

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

That's because they shouldn't have optics full stop! Apart from the obvious, it felt all wrong when they took my L1A1 off me and gave me an L85A1....

Thanks for all of the replies. I do have a SUIT but the spring is weak and it won't group at all.

Think I'll give the Nikon a try.
