I judge myself against everyone I meet.
Who would carry out these tests and what would the criteria be, pass or fail. ?

A medical professional would have to decide that.

HALODIN I am interested to know if you have shared your views with any of your fellow club members and what their views were.

It's never come up in conversation, although a few are members here and will probably see this. Why is this of interest?

That doesn't really answer my question. What criteria would they use. Someone that was depressed a few years ago, a month ago a week ago . The list is endless. If you know anything about psychiatric medicine you will know its not an exact science. People have convinced doctors that they are perfectly happy and walked out the door and killed themselves , or others. The police can already contact your doctor to see if they think there is any issues.

Because you will find its not a popular view. Most will think they already have enough to do as law abiding citizens to get firearms.

That's because I'm not qualified to answer your question.

Ultimately they should be judged sound of mind, I'm not sure why this is such a contentious point.

I appreciate it wouldn't be welcomed, but if it prevented another mass shooting or opened a dialogue to reinstate banned firearms, I think that's a positive step.

You have been shooting one year and you have a firearms licence. You must be a very law abiding person to join a club do a 6 month probation period then get granted a firearms certificate in one year. I am impressed.
