Case Head Stamp I.D.

#1 Post by Stuck »

Hi all,

I've been given a bag full of once fired .338 LM cases, some of which I can't identify the brass.

They are stamped "T 338LM".

Can anyone help identify who makes these cases & advise if they are worth bothering with please?

Thanks,

Mick.

India also use the T head stamp on some ammunition although I have only known it on .50BMG.

They are probably Ruag - I bought a load from Sporting Services once fired marked as you indicate. They came from Accuracy International.

You will find slight differences in the brass colour and weights can differ by more than 10 grains, but it is good brass and already I have reloaded this stuff 4 or 5 times and still good. Sort into weighed batches for best consistency.

Thanks Colin,

Good to know you've had that many reloads from them.

That's useful, I just assumed it was "T" for sniper

And Brit issues....which given I collect cases Stuck is embarrassing (just been sacked by Dave..again tesnews ).

I have a fired blank, always wondered what it looked like live....I know now!!
