Has anyone got or come across any 7n1 sniper ammo?.To look at its identical to normal 54r but comes in specially marked packs and quite often has a "97" headstamp.
If you have any marked like the ones in the pic let me know please

I have not seen it here in the UK in at least 6-7 years other than the occasional handful in collections. It used to be GBP19/100 which always seemed a bit pricey considering heavy ball was GBP11/100 at the time.
I certainly have some fired cases here and may even have the original wrapping for a couple of packs somewhere.

Would you have a wrapping Spare?.Hopefully someone may have some rounds in the back of their safe, I would really like to try some in my Dragunov. It shoots well with standard 150gr milsurp but doesn't like the 180gr Barnaul stuff at all, the groups really open up.

Christel shot it in her Drag for a while, either out to 800 or 1000 however she said it was spiteful and she soon moved to home loads. Fun to try all the same.

Has she still got the Dragunov?

She had one of the early wooden stocked one of the 'scopes that the zoom changes on as you change the distance shot at (I have totally forgotten the model!) I made a few minor changes to it for her and that was about it. The rifle shot OK and she really liked enjoyed it however here preference is accurate shooting at 1000/1200 and the Drag was not as good as she wanted accuracy wise, so she sold it. That was probably 5-6 years ago now.

That'll be a 1pn21 scope, not the best for target shooting at fixed distances due to how the zoom/rangefinder setup works but brilliant for sniping "live" targets.
I fancy a fixed stock full length version to go with the SVDS, especially one with wood furniture and an original Pso-1 scope.

I reload mine with 174gn boat tail FMJ with 47.5gn of varget, this is a really sweet load which is stays in 4/5 ring at 300m without too much effort. Found that PPU is not too bad though mine but milsurp is really hit and miss according to the vintage.

Mine shoots very nicely with 150gr milsurp.I tried some 189gr Barnaul and it hated it, the groups opened right out.Do you reload steel cases or just brass?.
