Rumour has it that the parts were ordered over the internet through a well known US parts and accessories supplier, anyone heard anything.

Firing pins I can sort of understand, but extractors? Someone in the CPS was really chancing his arm there.

"The charges all involved components [firing pins and extractors] for the prohibited Glock and Luger handguns which cannot be owned without a licence." Presumably they're referring to the pistols, not the components?

The was clearly no criminal case here as none of the parts were licenceable so there was no breach of the firearms act(s). Questions could be asked as to what she wanted them for, or more usefully, if the persons whom she sold them too could have been tracked and monitored, the police might have actually ended up with a worthwhile court case. Considering how easy it is to make a firing pin though i doubt anything would've come of it

There is probably more to it than just her involvement, it probably stems from who she supplied them too and what they were then used for. There is also some debate that a firing pin is a pressure bearing part and that you should have good reason to possess one.

She may have been completely clueless or just having a blonde moment when she sold them.

Firing pins are a bit of a grey area, my FEO believes they should be restricted as they are pressure bearing. I will ask the London proof Master for his take on this when we speak next.

It sounds a bit dodgy to me. Technically speaking she has done nothing wrong, but you have to ask yourself WHY the hell did she need such parts? especially in the illegal gun capital of the UK.

Bolt face I can undertand as pressure bearing but the firing pin does it really bear any pressure?

A key witness pulled out? More likely the Home Office firearms expert they hoped to use in court saw the brief and said "wtf firing pins, you're having laugh aren't you" . It's the old component parts thing again, if it's illegal to possess a glock firing because it's a part of a prohibited gun, how can you then have glock mags for a 9mm lever release?
