Typical I buy a rifle in 6.5xx55 the only bullets I have are 139 grain and 140 grain.
I decided it might be cool to try some 120 grain so I bought 200 Hornady A max in 120grain.
In the mean time I bought a Kahles ZF95 scope and fitted it with a 6.5x55 ballistic cam.
The info with the cam tells me its calibrated for the 139 grain bullet.
So nobody has any reloading data for a 120grain bullet and I have 200 of them and they were not cheap.
The scope is calibrated for a 139grain bullet any way. It could only happen to me.
Having said that the rifle shoots very small groups with what I had left of the 140grain stuff the Kahles ZF95 is a cracking scope.
I have two kahles now they are excellent bits of kit.
In the mean time I have 200 Hornady 120grain A max bullets to find a use for. sign01

Damn that's a shame, here's you with 200 120 Grn A-Max bullets that weren't cheap and here's me with a load for that bullet that shoots sub 1" groups @ 100yds with my Swedish Mauser tesnews Ain't life a bitchSo nobody has any reloading data for a 120grain bullet and I have 200 of them and they were not cheap

Re: 6.5x55 Hornady 120grain A max load data required.
Aw OK here you go, 36grns Varget with the 120gr Hornady AMAX, CCI Benchrest primers, but hey they ain't cheap  Starting load is 34grns of Varget, I worked it up and found 36 grns shot best but it is also the max load for the bullet.
Now then I don't know the condition of your rifle so I tell you here and now you use that load at your own risk. In my rifle no problems whatsoever.

Here's the links to reloading data on both Lapua & Hodgdon powders. They've both got data for 120 grains bullets.
So just figure out which works for you.
Lapua: http://www.lapua.com/en/products/reload ... odata/5/56
Hodgdon: http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp
You can print them out and keep them.

Dave next time I see you I'll explain to you about reloading manuals.
As you don't seem to have come across them before you could find one useful.
The Lyman one I'm looking at just now has load data for 120 gn ballistic tip jacketed bullet for the 6.5 x 55, I'm sure you would find it interesting and go some way to answering your questions.

What edition you looking at I have most of the Lyman manuals including the cast boolit ones. Also have speer. Hodgdon, Vitavouri, and both copies of the Lee modern reloading and reams and reams of stuff in A4 binders. I don't have any Varget Blu. The Lapau stuff looks interesting.
Anyway I have some .310 stuff I am playing with at the moment so the 6.5 will have to wait.
