Re: Slots on your first ticket
Asked for 5 was granted 5.
Although I do recall that on my first visit the FLO said something like 'we really don't like shopping lists' - I asked what he meant by that, as I had every intention of filling my slots up asap, and he didn't say anything further on the matter.

Can't actually remember what I asked for however I am confident that whatever it was I got it, I do not remember being denied anything, in fact I got more .22 ammo allowance than I asked for.
Re: Slots on your first ticket
Asked for 7, got 6. Got knocked back for a 2nd S1 shotgun, which seems to be common in Kent. Also had my .22lr ammo quantity reduced, the qty I was allowed fits in line with others I know in Kent.
Putting in a variation soon for additional slots for another S1 shotgun, another .22 LBP, .308 rifle, and probably a .300 whisper too..
Here's hoping!

Re: Slots on your first ticket
From memory I asked for 3 and got 3 which I believe is fine for a first time shooter. These days some do seem to get away with 8+ on first application and I always wonder why they need so many rifles first time out...
Ammunition holding is a bit varied as well, I know people with similar rifles, same club, same FEO capped at 300/400 per rifle whereas I am usually 1000/1200 for centrefire rifles. A couple of weeks ago I put in a 1:1 for a spare 6,5x47 barrel, suppressor to suit and 1000/1200 6,5x47 for 'target shooting' and it was back within a week updated as requested.

One of the senior guys at my club has only got 50 round allowance on his .308 !, so I fear my 500/600 requestmay get somwhat squashed.

Re: Slots on your first ticket
I asked for 5 and got 5, and a variation within the first 18 months for 4 more, however, on my last renewal I was told in no uncertain terms that Avon and Somerset were operating a policy where they'd note down your cabinet's apparent storage capacity and refuse extra slots if you asked for more than that (despite my insistence that though I had a 8 gun cupboard I could fit more when they were in gunsocks)
Re: Slots on your first ticket
I only wanted a .22 pistol and a .357 pistol both were granted with no issues.

Re: Slots on your first ticket
I went for 3 x 22 pistols which I got.
Bought a Browning 150 heavy barrel, a Pardini Fiocchi UIT pistol and a Ruger Single six with 22WMR cylinder!
All went as I got into full bore pistol and got up to 9 slots.
I would love to have any of them back now.
