Have a think.

I've mentioned it before.

No, it's not the Second Amendment (alone).

Got it yet?

It's sheer NUMBERS (read VOTES).

It is ONLY with greater numbers that we can hope to gain a loud enough voice.

Next time you go to the range, bring someone new.
To a large degree you are correct, but it's not quite as simple as that. If it were Obama wouldn't be the President.

The simple fact is the USA is a free country, I know a lady who lives in the USA. She does not own guns or care about them.

But she still votes to keep the rights to make the choice, her view is I don't care about guns, but if they take away his right, how long until they come for one of mine.

Where as in the UK, people generally don't give a hoot about anyone else, as long as they are OK.....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

paxtond, I also know folks here who own no firearms but are also of the same opinion. I find it astounding that the Americans spent decades and zillion of dollars trying to halt the spread of communism/socialism and now people like the Democrats want to be just like them. Now don't get me wrong here, I am open minded enough to see that they do have some good ideas, hell I don't agree with everything the Republicans stand for. But any government that is hell bent on disarming it's citizens they way they are and the way they are going about it, to me that in itself is reason enough for an armed citizenry.

Unfortunately a lot of democrat supporters are too dumb to see that the party they support has done more to chip away at the US Constitution and erode their Constitutional rights, those are the very same people who want everyone disarmed. Well they can :55:

I remember a old episode of ross kemp about the us gun culture, he asked a guy in Kentucky what he would do if they took his guns, his response was " I couldn't do anything, id already be dead and they would be prying it out of my cold dead fingers" lol

So anyways back on track, let's take blu's advice and draft a letter to send to the USA NRA and get some advise on setting up a plan

Hey I'd certainly be very disappointed if they said they couldn't help but hey it doesn't hurt to try.

As I have already said I like a few of the Dems policies, just that their version of gun control isn't one of them. I just don't like the idea of only the Police and the criminals having the guns, so assuming it happened and they cleared up the streets of crime, will the law abiding citizens get their guns back when all the crims are either dead or locked.

No they will not.

If the government were ever to try it a lot of people are going to die. I believe it could tear this country apart, that's how strong law abiding American gun owners feel about it. They will remain law abiding but they will never accept being subjected. They are all taught the day the take the Pledge of Allegiance for the very first time, unfortunately there are those who have lost sight of it.

Strange but I must confess I felt kind of guilty taking "the pledge", but I'll always be a Jock first and a plastic yank second. Still got and can hold both passports which helps avoid the crowds at Immigration both ways.

So true Dromia and I'm sure it can be said of anybody of every nationality. When we lived in the UK my wife fit in just fine, but I knew in her heart she would always be an American first as I will always be Scottish first, which is the same as being English according to a lot of yanks. Years ago before the internet, I actually had a telephone operator call it Scotland in England

Having an excess of geography the yanks seem uninterested it the rest of the world except that that their paucity of history makes them keen on things "old".

I feel sure that you all must know that if you don't do something you're going to eventually lose what's left. Thing is though it could come back and bite the government on the backside when the gun crime figures don't start falling, that's assuming that they have started caring what you think.

Look I'm not saying the American way is right for folks there, but at the moment it's the only one that's standing up to both the antis and the governments and winning. Another sad thing is that if the firearms do go then forums such as this could die as well, what will there be to comment on? The good old days?

Really guys, start fighting back and the government will be stunned, up to now they've had an easy time of it doing what they want. As for the government branding it and all but declaring any new organisation an enemy of the state, it's not the organisation itself that it fears, it's membership is what it fears.

We The People.
