So, how many people employed in these places? What do these contribute to the economy of Hull? Now on a slow news day, the local channels pick this up, how do you reckon she would respond? Would her 641 majority appear even thinner? Perhaps this is the tact the existing organisations should take? You see where I'm coming from...
So if a press release from a shooting group were to make it into Diane Johnson's local papers and to the local radio station, along with a petition with more than 641 signatures pledging withdrawal of votes from Labour/Johnson because she is actively campaigning to destroy local jobs and harm her local electorate ...

I like the cut of your jib, sir!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

And according to the "they work for you" website, she features "above average" in regards to attendance and parliamentary business, so will be sensitive to overt political action against her....

"tougher rules to prevent people with a history of drug or alcohol abuse, mental illness and violence – especially domestic violence – from acquiring firearms licenses"

Anybody on here seriously have a problem with this?

H/man

That would seem to include the likes of, say, Eric Clapton for example.
I have a good friend, who in his youth spent a number of terms at Her Majesty's pleasure for violence.
However, he sorted himself out and now is a keen stalker, having worked extremely hard to get his FAC.
I will happily shoot in his company, a very conscientious and considerate shot.

Yup. I've a conviction for assault causing ABH and my FAC was cleared ok (although I suspect it was because I was provoked). There needs to be 'guidelines' but every case should be on merit, surely?

Folks, you have to do what is right for you. What SimG is advocating might work for you folks there but it didn't work here. The anti gun movement over here really kicked off big time in the late 90's early 21st. The NRA here more or less did what Simon is saying, problem was most of the media by then had already jumped on the anti gun band wagon much like the BBC and the press does over there now.

Folks in the UK are not as gun aware as folks here, in fact I'd say you guys have a harder job of convincing the public than we here would ever have. We've been down the road that Simon wants to go, it doesn't work I say that from experience.

Okay really really now I've said my piece, it's in your hands and I wish you all luck. Keep your pecker up and your powder dry guys.

The rhetoric and spin is starting now of the election. Watch in coming months as Labour make promise after promise in an attempt to persuade the stupid people of the UK that they're the best option for this country.

Trust me - what those idiots have planned over the coming months is going to astonish you. The asshattery is just beginning.
And the fools will fall for it, gun owners are demonised - discrimination is alive and well. Blu, spot on assessment. Sim etc -all good comments too.

As I mentioned earlier, our best chance is getting greater numbers of people shooting so we have a larger/louder voice. Getting new shooters is easy in comparison to winning-over the socialists (that's all three main parties) and the brainwashed masses...

Easy.
