Has anyone has any experience of the above?

I've just watched an IV8888 vid on Youtube and he really rates it.
The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.

Sellier & Bellot, 174 grain, 7.62 x 54 Russian.

Have you been around old military rifles much? emrolleyes
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I always thought the "R" was for "Rimmed".

It does, generally. And specifically "Russian" is not the exact nomenclature, more of a colloquialism.

7,62x39 Russian, 7,62x54 Rimmed however most people do refer to the 45R as Russian and I have even seen it described a 7,62x54 Nagant which is completely wrong. As long as you know what you are shooting and what it takes there is no problem.

I do remember being confused when someone gave me a box of 7,62x56 many years ago
