Well, where does all this 'practical shooting' take place? We do keep up to date with Practical Pistol - in Europe and N. Ireland and we run Practical Shotgun stuff thanks to the UKPSA but, as I've said before - we have a (unpaid) staff of three plus a couple of regular contributors - Laurie Holland and Chris Parkin who personally I think are THE best UK gun writers.

We are happy to provide any writer with space for a regular column - currently, we have Benchrest, Quigley, UKPSA and F Class

The weekend just gone we had a multi-gun charity match which had 108 competitors over two days at Shield shooting centre in Dorset. We hold practical shotgun, and multi gun events all over the place as far north as rossendale, down to Bisley and clubs in between. We have a pretty full calendar!

If you want to find out more, come over to http://four4islands.org/ and check it out.

Four4islands has a national shotgun championship consisting of ten large matches at various clubs around the country, if we offered you regular updates & articles would you use them ?

One of the guys who is a regular at our matches told us that you returned one of his articles & wouldnt use it last year, I know that is your prerogative but I dont want to go to all the effort of writing stuff for it to get knocked back.

As techguy said we just had the biggest practical shooting event seen in the UK since 1995 & it was a part of the four4islands multi-gun series which is another set of matches we are running this year with a further eight national competitions including events at Bisley.

You can find out more by following our facebook page or logging onto four4islands.org

Here are some pictures from our match last weekend.

Rossendale isn't "North" in my book. 5 hours south of me. Would love to see F4i events further north.

Hi Mike

We would very much like to have a match north of the border but we need a supporting club up there in order to make it happen.

As yet none have come forward with an offer, but we live in hope. :)

Yes - I did 'knock back' that report from George G - it was on the Practical Shotgun Worlds - the very first PSG Worlds and organised by Hungary. It was rather negative yet I'd seen other reports (which we ran) which were anything but negative and for me, if a country steps up and puts on an event they should be congratulated - not slated. I've been to several 'worlds' and there are always things that could have been done better as often, the country is doing it for the first time but, for me, the people who organise shoots - world or club level - are the backbone of our sport - without them, where would we be?

We will always run good copy with a few pics on any shooting comp.

You wont get any arguments from me on that score, I have attended several european championships & I enjoyed them for the most part & I organised a number of level 3 matches here in the UK all had faults if you looked for them.

Four4islands has the biggest match calendar in the UK for PSG right now & has the highest attendances, UK shooters are certainly embracing our efforts, it would be good to get some copy out there.

Cheers

There is also the CSR league at Bisley, the first match is the 4th of October and there are already over 80 competitors registered for the match.

Articles are regularly written for the NRA magazine and I am sure that if you were interested, someone would happily submit an article and some pictures...
