An odd thing occurred last weekend that I thought I'd share. I was in a modelling/arts 'n' crafty-type shop with the girlfriend, and while I was talking to the guy serving me at the counter, another customer walked in, but what clocked my eye was that he had a very battered gunslip slung over his person, and the muzzle of something cold clearly be seen through the worn 'slip.
Now, is it my British/PC, 'guns are bad' programming, or is that not okay? I kinda wanted to say something, but I as daft as it sounded, I didn't want to cause a scene; I had no idea how he guy would take it, and there were other people in the store, non-shooty types, so God know how they'd react.
All I could think was, 'you're not helping our image, mate.'
You are quite right Tower it doesn’t help the image at all! What sort of a chap walks around town with a tatty gun slip. He obviously doesn’t value his gun.
Can’t abide a chap that doesn’t look after his guns, he should go out and buy a new slip immediately. He’s probably the sort of chap that doesn’t polish his shoes either. Shame on him.
Incidentally I was shopping in Walmart in Fort Worth Texas recently. They have an even wider selection of shopping trolleys than we have over here. They don’t just have ones with child seats, double child seats or to be used in conjunction with a wheelchair. They also have ones with scabbards on the side to take your carbine. Darn those Yanks, they’re civilised.
