there is a copy of the submission to ministers document on http://www.ianthegun.blogspot.com
this shows you that the WWT and BASC are working together to bring about a lead ban for all shooting. Although this is looking a compliance is you read the BASc research committee report also on the same bolg you will see there are plan that are not in the interests of the shooter.
the compliance report by the WWT [who have call for a total ban on lead shot] with the help of BASC both sat on the steering group, guided the project through very stage and reviewed the report. the wwt got paid £63,775 plus vat for the wrok and BASC was paid out of that.

All bollox, friends like that who needs enemies.
All this over some lead shot when the bulk of our food chain was adulterated with horse and other as yet unidentified "meats".
Yep another go at the shooters - theories based on lies and deception. As said before on here, the truth is not important!

Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!
Re: Submission to ministers
Could someone explain the problem with not using lead shot to prevent the waterfowl getting poisoned. The human food chain doesn't seem to be the problem.
Re: Submission to ministers
Talking about lead. As a boy I used to eat rabbit and would occasionally spit out the odd bit of lead shot onto the plate.
Also the house I lived in had lead pipes. As far as I can make out I have not turned out to be a 'window licker' or 'special' and can do joined up writing and am not subnormal in anyway. So just because a bit of leadshot gets into the environment it will not poison the earth as humans have other ways of b*llocksing up this planet.

Re: Submission to ministers
A couple of points
1) The Ministerial submission is almost 3 years old, with the report published in Nov 2010.
2) It's not just BASC calling for shooters to use lead legally - another 10 have put their names to a joint statement calling for shooters to use lead shot according to the law. http://leadshotcampaign.org.uk/?page_id=14
My opinion is the law is the law, whether you like it or not. Non compliance because you don't agree with the law is not going to get it changed - if fact it'll probably harden attitudes against us and get lead banned quicker. We keep saying that shooters are law abiding, but non compliance says that we are not and is potentially a big stick to wield against us.
If you want to keep lead shot then comply with law, instead of sniping from the sidelines and jumping at shadows - be proactive. Write to your elected representatives (MPs and shooting organisation/s) and start lobbying them. If it doesn't work you could use it as the basis for a campaign to get yourself elected onto the council of a shooting body and try to change it from within.
Don't just whinge about it, do something about it!
