FIRE ARMS LAW
Just heard today off my tutor than in or within 2 yrs they are going to try and get everyones firearms locked up at gun clubs and not at home? any one heard any news on this? i think it is mental myself???
Re: FIRE ARMS LAW
If anyone has further information regarding this then please include it.
I do not see how that can be practical; some clubs do not have the storage facilities to store all the guns from all of the members, what if I want to use my guns in competitions (how can I take them there?) what if I am a member of more than one club? And etc.
Why would they even propose this (this is a rhetorical question)?

Re: FIRE ARMS LAW
It has been suggested. It is utterly impractical and will not be passed as law; more likely to ban entirely.
Re: FIRE ARMS LAW
Well from a stupidity point of view it makes perfect sense Dan.Dannywayoflife wrote:I don't see this happening personally.
Why not give over your pride and joy to one person in a location that if raided, will equip a small Army...and where do they propose the ammo is kept?
A firearm kept out of sight at home is already more safe by being discrete than a mass stored one in a known location.
In any event, are they going to then escort you between the armoury and the firing point?
What exactly will this stupidity stop?
I have said it before and will say it again, licensing is about the person, not the gun emrolleyes
Re: FIRE ARMS LAW
Yep if they spent more time looking at the person rather than faffing around with variations etc if would be far better.
Re: FIRE ARMS LAW
My CC is the ACPO lead on licensing and streamlining it all, I am hoping to collar him and give him some shooting. He seems like a really decent bloke.Dannywayoflife wrote:Yep if they spent more time looking at the person rather than faffing around with variations etc if would be far better.
Re: FIRE ARMS LAW
It was looked at before the handgun ban and rejected for a number of good reasons. Ask your tutor where they got that information from and I think you'll find it's not from any official or reliable source.bravo24 wrote:Just heard today off my tutor than in or within 2 yrs they are going to try and get everyones firearms locked up at gun clubs and not at home? any one heard any news on this? i think it is mental myself???
Does your tutor have any particular opinions on guns and shooting?
I wouldn't worry.

Re: FIRE ARMS LAW
Sounds like a very impractical idea, especially for those of us who use our firearms for activities besides target shooting. A shooting club membership is not required in many circumstances to own a firearm. The central storage idea has been mooted before by the antis but was dismissed by whitehaven inquiry a few years ago as impractical.

Tutor of what? And what basis does he or she have for saying this is what they are going to try and do?bravo24 wrote:Just heard today off my tutor than in or within 2 yrs they are going to try and get everyones firearms locked up at gun clubs and not at home? any one heard any news on this? i think it is mental myself???
