I'd imagine if "King Alexander" gets his way, this may very well be the last one...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

I've not been for 16 years. The travellings a ball ache, and tickets are reassuringly expensive.

Not having been in so long, I really don't feel I've missed out.

I did however go to the deer stalking fair, and found that to be pretty good, just for the sake of catching up with people I hadn't spoken to in a while.

Great day out but I'm red as a lobster today - despite the dark glasses and the Stetson!
We covered around 350 miles for the round trip.
Nothing out of the ordinary there but it was worth the outing to see the guy from Oz/New Zealand with his rescued sheep dogs herding a gaggle of ducks. Priceless!
Met Derek and had a pleasant chat with him on the Archery stand and met his family - all very nice people.
Didn't buy much and not many rifles to view on Gunmakers Row. There was a beautiful Sauer 202 there but the price tag over £4000 - ouch.
All in all one of the better days of my life.
Purveyor of fine cast boolits.
All round good guy and VERY grumpy old man.

Excellent - good to meet you to Roger. Our day ended in one of the stalls which had a TV, watching Murray's last set. The funny thing is, when I watched it again later, it only took half as long....it's a funny place the Game Fair

I have to say, it is the loveliest setting for a fair, especially if you are staying on site. Do they still have a proper ceilidh in the bar on Saturday? Last time I was there we ended up digging a lost terrier from the river bank, having borrowed a machine from one of the stands. Succesful conclusion and grand bunch of lads we stopped with (the late Jock Reid and co).
