NRA marker 09/06/2013 Target 12/94

#1 Post by kennyc »

I would just like to say, that yesterday we had a superb marker for our club day :goodjob:
the target fell almost on the shot and was up again in a flash! any missed shots were called without prompting and everyone remarked how good he was, the club chairman was despatched back to the Range Office at the end of the day to pass on our compliments. sign92

on another note, the K31 continues to impress me, with almost every shot into the black at 300 then 600, in fact the only shots out of the black were a couple old rounds that I loaded last year with medium loads of 2520, which were obvious from the sooting as the book medium load proved to be on the low side, I thought I had gone through them, but 2 or 3 were still in there, they are all gone now bangbang 40+ rounds and a tender spot above my collar bone :shakeshout: life is good!

Don't know if the markers are on here, so I will pass on your message.

Thanks for posting - nice to get some positive feedback.

Enjoyed excellent marking the last 2 weekends, especially since they received a fairly intense workout. Was disappointed to have a booking declined a few weeks ago due to a shortage of markers, but it seems like that was a temporary issue.

We had a good marker at both 300 and 600 yesterday - nice and steady, with no errors and only a couple of message 4s right at the end of a long day...from what others are saying it looks like there's been a positive change recently :good:

I made a point of complimenting the marker when I took the radio back; and still think the range office should set up an official method of tipping (i.e. be able to leave one at the range office that's recorded).

There are always complaints at the beginning of the season as new markers get trained-up (or before bad ones are filtered out). I thought there was a method of leaving a tip at the range office: ask to leave a tip - they give you an envelope to put it in and pass on to the marker.

Badger - I know you're trying to be funny, but I think they'd prefer cash...

...the quality of marking at Bisley declined mainly due to the change in the way markers are paid; effectively a pay cut for them...

Well if that's what others do, I'll see if I can't get the lads to chip in next time we have a good marker...

Aweek ago we had a shoot on 500/600 the marker we had was amazing. At lunch time we had a whipround and left it in a envelope in the range office. When l bought the radio back at end of shooting he was outside the Range office with is tip. It always pays to have chat over the radio and get to know them they work hard for the money and give them a break when your changing shooters.
